Waverly Health Center attracts Magnet recognition

Waverly Health Center achieved Magnet recognition from The American Nurses Credentialing Center whose program in Waverly, Iowa, reflects nursing professionalism, teamwork and outstanding patient care. Only 401 of 6,000 U.S. health care organizations meet the criteria for recognition.

The program is designed to ensure superiority in nursing performance and is difficult to achieve. Organizations must apply and document patient care performance. When the facility meets these milestones, they may qualify for an onsite review. The appraisal, and possible achievement of Magnet recognition follows.

Magnet recognition can benefit a health care facility and its surrounding community by impacting patient satisfaction, lower mortality risk and higher retention of nurses.
