Curly’s Foods will expand in Sioux City, add 30 jobs

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Curly’s Foods is planning to invest $9 million to add new production capability and expand its Sioux City facility with an additional 21,000 square feet of space.

The company will add at least 30 workers to accommodate increasing demand for the company’s processed meats. According to a release from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, IEDA approved tax incentives in the amount of $360,000 under the state’s High Quality Jobs Program. As a condition of the grant, at least eight new jobs are incentivized at a qualifying wage of $20.66 per hour.

Curly’s Foods is a subsidiary of Virginia-based Smithfield Foods.
