BirdDogHR sniffs out funding for Urbandale HQ

URBANDALE, Iowa – BirdDogHR plans to open a headquarters office in Urbandale and hire 71 new staff.

A technology and job recruitment company, BirdDogHR currently has about 45 employees.

In support of the company’s expansion plan, the Urbandale City Council approved for a tax incentive package that amounts to up to $65,000 in loans. In its application, the company said it plans to invest $3.3 million to establish the head office and to add 71 staff during the next three years. Company officials are looking to lease about 13,000 square feet in Urbandale.

BirdDogHR has also applied to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for state for tax incentives, including $325,000 in loans.

In January, BirdDogHR reported its revenues were up 53 percent in 2014 compared 2013. The company raised $4 million in 2014 last year in a funding round led by Next Level Ventures.
