Argenta will buy vet medicine plant in Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE, Iowa – Argenta Limited has formed the subsidiary AML Riverside with plans to buy the Boehringer Ingleheim Riverside production facility in Fort Dodge. That facility was expected to close at the end of the year. The company expects to employ about 30 workers.

Based in Aukland, New Zealand, Argenta Limited performs research and development and manufactures products for the top global animal health companies. Argenta will receive a $500,000 loan on the $5.7 million investment through the Iowa High Quality Jobs Program, approved recently by the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

Boehringer Ingleheim plans to retain its 5th Street plant in Fort Dodge. The Dutch company recently announced plans to invest $95 million to expand that facility.
