Sioux City’s Braunger Foods relocates to larger facility

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Braunger Foods, a wholesale food distributor with 125-year history in Sioux City, plans to move into a facility at 2101 Murray St. in the Bridgeport industrial area.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority granted Bruanger a $300,000 tax incentive package in support of the project, according to a recent news release. BRW Properties, a real estate holding company, will buy the building and 16 adjacent acres from the city. The company plans to remodel 15,000 square feet of the existing building and add 17,400 square feet of warehouse space.

The project is expected to require a capital investment of about $4.3 million, including $1.8 million for the initial purchase of the facility and land. Under the terms of the tax incentive through the Targeted Job s Withholding Tax Credit, Braunger will retain 18 jobs at a qualifying wage of $17.33. The company did not announce plans to add jobs in conjunction with the project.

Sioux City will grant tax rebates up to $145,000 to BTW Properties.
