GE to upgrade West Burlington facility

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – GE Industrial Solutions, a subsidiary of General Electric, will remodel and upgrade its West Burlington facility, investing more than $7 million and creating 128 jobs.

GE Industrial Solutions provides customers across various industries with products and services that help ensure the reliability and protection of electrical infrastructure. The expansion will enable the company to add two new product lines to it local manufacturing operations.

Goals for the project include paralleling switchgear equipment for mission-critical applications for data centers, financial systems and hospitals. The project will also add capacity for manufacturing EntelliGuard brand low-voltage air circuit breakers for reliable equipment and personnel protection in industrial and commercial settings.

We have a committed and passionate team that takes pride in their jobs and in manufacturing high-quality electrical distribution products. We’re thrilled to bring these new product lines and new jobs to West Burlington.”

The Iowa Economic Development Authority approved the company for a $930,000 forgivable loan through the High Quality Jobs Program. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will create 128 jobs incentivized at a qualifying wage of $15.73 per hour. The project has also received $248 in incentives from the city of West Burlington.
