Lil Sidekick kicks up a stir in baby products

POLK CITY, Iowa – You and Yours LLC is a new company kicking it in the fast-growing baby products industry with its product Lil Sidekick.

Founder and Polk City resident Amy Vohs invented the Lil Sidekick as a solution to her own frustration. When her first child, Jaxon, reached the age when babies throw everything from their high chairs, strollers, car seats or the grocery cart, Vohs tried every product she could find to tether her son’s belongings and stop them from ending up in the dirt. Her solution is a simple strap that eliminates the problems she found with every other product on the market. It is safe, easy to clean and it works with items as small as a crayon or as large as a stuffed toy.

With a patent pending, Vohs is selling the product online. She has begun marketing it through blogs and social media. At a trade show in the spring, she completely sold out of inventory.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded the You and Yours a $100,000 loan through the Innovation Acceleration Fund for intellectual property development and evaluation, prototype design and market planning and entry activities,
